The Beehive Golf Society Handicaps

Ray Stevens (Beehive handicap chairman) maintains the Beehive members handicaps and the rules are as follows:

i) Members, on election, must furnish to the Secretary, in writing, particulars of their handicap in other societies or clubs, and must inform the Secretary in writing of any change in such handicap.
A member desiring a handicap must return three cards duly completed and signed by a competent marker.
The Committee shall have power to adjust the handicaps of members irrespective of handicaps in other clubs or societies.

Handicap Adjustments

Handicaps are adjusted after every Beehive Golf Society event. The adjustments made are as follows:

i) Winning a Beehive event will result in a handicap reduction with respect to your Beehive handicap category (shown below).

• a) Handicap reduction category 1 (handicaps 0-9) receive a 1 shot reduction.
• b) Handicap reduction category 2 (handicaps 10-19) receive a 2 shot reduction.
• c) Handicap reduction category 3 (handicaps 20+) receive a 3 shot reduction.

ii) Finishing 2nd in a Beehive event will result in a handicap reduction with respect to your Beehive handicap category (shown below)..

• a) Handicap reduction category 1 (handicaps 0-9) receive a 0.5 shot reduction.
• b) Handicap reduction category 2 (handicaps 10-19) receive a 1 shot reduction.
• c) Handicap reduction category 3 (handicaps 20+) receive a 2 shot reduction.

iii) Finishing 3rd in a Beehive event will result in a handicap reduction with respect to your Beehive handicap category (shown below)..

• a) Handicap reduction category 1 (handicaps 0-9) receive a 0.25 shot reduction.
• b) Handicap reduction category 2 (handicaps 10-19) receive a 0.5 shot reduction.
• c) Handicap reduction category 3 (handicaps 20+) receive a 1 shot reduction.

iv) Beehive members will receive a 0.5 handicap increase if their scores meet the following criteria:

• a) Handicap increase category 1 (handicaps 0-6) receive a 0.5 shot increase for scores of 34 points and less.
• b) Handicap increase category 2 (handicaps 7-12) receive a 0.5 shot increase for scores of 33 points and less.
• b) Handicap increase category 3 (handicaps 13-19) receive a 0.5 shot increase for scores of 32 points and less.
• b) Handicap increase category 4 (handicaps 20+) receive a 0.5 shot increase for scores of 31 points and less.

In addition to this the Committee shall have power to adjust the handicaps of members at any time.
